Levels at Lake Travis are at their highest since 2011

There is a bright side to all this rain, Lake Travis.

The LCRA says the lake is filling more and more every hour.

At the moment it's at 658 feet, 22 or so more feet and it's full. That's the highest it's been since 2011.

Central Texas has had some major rain events over the past week. Lake Travis came up 20 feet just in the past week.

Pete Clark has owned just for fun watercraft rentals for the past 28 years.

They had to cut jobs when the drought was at its worst. Now, he's a happy camper.

“It's really the first time we've all been able to get excited about the future in a long time. More water translates to more jobs, more business. A huge economic impact to the area,” he said.

Even though the rains have given plenty of drought relief, the LCRA says as far as the combined storage of lakes Travis and Buchanan, it's not over yet.
